Band Makes and Excellent Showing in Murfreesboro
March 8th the DeKalb County Concert Band, made up of 8th through 12th grade, participated in the MTSBOA Concert Festival at MTSU.  The band received Excellent ratings in both performance assessment and sight-reading.  For the performance assessment the group performed a concert march called Blaze Away and a two movement work called Cajun Folk Songs  For the sight-reading the band had to learn and perform a piece of music after only seven minutes of preparation.  In spite of all the lack of rehearsal time due to snow days the band put on one of their best performances yet!  This has been the first time in a number of years that DeKalb County has participated in this event.
