Another E-Mail from eternal band mom Bonnie Olsen Regarding her son Chuck.

Attached you'll find a picture of Airman Charles M. Olson at the Riverwalk in San Antonio Texas just after his graduation from Basic Training with the USAF. His grandparents, Matt and I flew down for his graduation and stayed thru Sunday, Jan. 21. He leaves Lackland on Mon., Jan 22 @ around 6a.m. for Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for tech school. He'll be there for 15 weeks training in heavy equipment/construction/paving. He didn't get the job he wanted but he seems happy with what he got. He was told that a lot of people got jobs other than their choice "For the good of the Air Force".

I just had a call from Chuck and his new address is as follows:

He said he is sure glad to get away from Lackland and be done with basic training. He now has a 3 man room, instead of 50 people. When he landed in St Louis there was snow and then he boarded a bus to Fort Leonard Wood. He gets base liberty every night and can go to the BX. He said he can use his cell phone in his room now, so I expect we'll get to hear from him more now. He will actually start his tech school on Monday, Jan. 29th.

He asked me to forward his new address to everyone and said that all the mail while in basic was what helped keep him going.
